Paignton Zoo in Paignton, Devon

You are in for a wild time at Paignton zoo. Paignton zoo has everything you need for a full day of fun. It will leave everyone exhausted after a day of exploring. The main café has a great selection of food to cater for everyone. They also have cabins and seating all the way round so if you have brought along your picnic, you can eat it with a view of the monkeys. The keepers are very friendly and full of knowledge, they are happy to answer all questions from the ridiculous to mundane. There are also various play parks around the zoo for different ages and abilities. Depending on the time of year there are some activities for everyone to get involved in around the zoo.

Woodlands Family Park

Whatever the weather Woodlands Family Theme Park has a full packed day in store for you! From indoor soft play areas with the ultimate death slides to a tower of terror this park has so much on offer. There is a main café area in the indoor soft play which has a fast menu to choose from. There are also other coffee and ice-cream stations situated around the park to give the family a well earner 5-minute break. Suitable from Toddlers to Granny and Grandad.

The rare breeds farm is great for a hand on experience with the kids. It’s a great to get up close and personal with the animals. You can stroke the goats and feed the sheep and so much more with all the rare bread animals.

Where better to while away the time than the UK’s largest aquarium. Hours can be spent watching the shark’s, jellyfish, and various other fish. The aquarium is Accessible Friendly and perfect for any age. It’s a great day out in any weather plenty to learn and fun to be had.

Pennywell Farm is a fun and interactive day out for all the family that lets little ones truly experience the reality of farm life. This is definitely one of our best places to visit in Devon and your guaranteed a good time from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave riding tractors, pampering ponies or giving the gorgeous miniature pigs squishy cuddles.

A wonder for older visitors and young children alike, the South Devon Railway is a heritage attraction with all the charm which lives solely in the history books. Set within the scenic Dart Valley, the South Devon Railway passes through almost seven miles of glorious countryside between Buckfastleigh and Totnes (Riverside).


Ultimate family fun! Competition is a definite to who will catch the most and biggest crabs…. Dartmouth and its surrounding areas are hotspots for crabbing.
